weak decisions

A bad relationship can tear through a gentle soul, mangle even the sturdiest of characters caught by the heart strings, unable to move, for reasons entirely internal, a mystery to the rest of us, left to wonder why he or she doesn’t just leave, why would they stand the abuse or the boredom, hostility, whatever, why endure what doesn’t need, weak decisions coming back to haunt our lives in perpetuity if we allow the dread of going home, turning perpetually away from the place we lay our head, when our peace can only be found on the road, our lives lose their substance, our thoughts have no basis, our minds never work, caught in the problem of deciding where to go, what to endure, how much to take.
