I ignored the crowd in the anteroom, the space that historically was all of the bar, tall stools and tables crammed together, full of local drunks and retired sports teams, determined to drink without the bother of singing or playing bar games or watching the sports, laughing together while throwing back glass after glass of drunkenness.
