short shouted fragments

Introverted as we were, there was only so long Silver and I could tolerate the crowd. Given the chance, a slow period between songs, a lull in the dramas, we snuck out to the car for a smoke and a break. Our relationship is built on talking. We discuss everything that crosses our paths, analyzing, resolving, investigating, exploring, creating. In the early days, we paid horrific phone bills. Living together saved us thousands in cell phone charges gauged by the minute. One of the greatest disadvantages to these evenings spent crowded in the presence of others was that we could only speak together in short shouted fragments. Our regular visits to the car allowed us to return to our roots and commune verbally.
