too sensitive ego

Some lyrics, otherwise pleasant, remain too stupid to sing, too inane to allow to escape my too sensitive ego. Words of stupidity, cruelty, self-effacement, I’m a loser, a surprisingly common lyric but only slightly less unpleasant than the braggarts credo, I am the greatest, leave this one alone, setting apart the visions of the singer guided by lyrical content for people seem unable to distinguish between the musical fictional persona and the less lyrical, less interesting truth.
