stand meaninglessly

The song ended, at least, the vocal portion of the song ended, followed by a lengthy instrumental coda that I had no use for. Had the musicians played instruments behind me, I would have waited respectfully for the song to end, but I felt no obligation to stand meaninglessly on stage while the recording wound down, so I stepped off the stage as the music faded to black with a quiet thanks.
