Stools were scattered at the back of the stage, ready to be adopted by lazier, heavier singers who didn’t care about breath support. The only singers I disrespected more were the ones who took the microphone from the stand to hold it passionately like a dick as they crooned poorly. Someone who isn’t really trying, who diminishes the essential breath support required to sing with diaphragm engaged, doesn’t deserve much respect. Holding a microphone cramps the lungs’ style.
