I can’t believe I’m doing this.” A warm silence surrounded her. “My memo is already overdue, and I need to get started on the filings.” Her stomach churned slightly, consumed by the clash of worries and nervous anticipation . “I don’t have time for this,” she growled. The muscles in her back ached slightly.
